Monday, October 20th - DiversificationIn today’s economic environment, home building firms may encounter many opportunities to diversify. Commercial development, remodeling, special use structures, light industrial or institutional projects—all may tempt a builder to seek new market niches. This course will help you to assess the possibilities and decide whether diversification is the right strategy for your company.

Tuesday, October 21st – Profitable BusinessExceed customer expectations and increase repeat business by delivering exceptional service to your customers. This course will teach you key strategies for creating value and providing a quality building/remodeling experience for your homeowners. Topics include meeting the quality challenge with customers, with competitors and within your company. This is a “must” for the builder or remodeler who is ready to take his/her company to the next level.

Wednesday, October 22nd – Land DevelopmentThree stages must precede any development: site planning, government approval and site improvements. Get the essential overview of these critical processes, plus a detailed description of each individual step.

Thursday, October 23rd – Negotiating SkillsBuilders negotiate daily with customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and government officials. Negotiation skills often spell the difference between profit and loss, stress and success. With a combination of lectures, exercises, and role-playing, this course teaches strategies for specific negotiating situations, and builds confidence in the achievement of mutually satisfactory results.
