The Green Building Council of the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines brings together those in the housing industry, including Certified Green Professionals (CGP) and others in the planning, building, remodeling, marketing and selling of high performance homes and related products and services. Its purpose is to provide and promote NAHB Green Building programs, standards and educational opportunities for its members and the public. The council provides a forum for professionals in the industry to promote high performance home standards and best practices, to network with others in the industry and to take a proactive role as leaders in the high performance housing industry.
Local home building associations are critical components of the NAHB National Green Building Program. The HBA of Greater Des Moines' Green Building Council knows and understands the local community and is dedicated to improving it by making it greener. In response to an exploding market for sustainable, environmentally friendly and recycled building products, The HBA of Greater Des Moines is developing local green building programs to help members meet consumer demands for green building.
